This E36 BMW was brought in for a ceramic coating after receiving a full 3M color change vinyl wrap from another shop. A vinyl wrap on a vehicle is not permanent, and has an approximate life expectancy of 3-7 years depending on the specific company and material whether it be gloss, matte, or satin. With our 3 year Gyeon Ceramic Coating installed, this customer can maximize the life and quality of the wrap to protect it from fading due to UV damage and losing its gloss finish. Vinyl wraps without any type of protection can feel “grabby” and allow contaminants to bond to the surface, which can cause marring or swirling of the material during regular maintenance washing. After coating, the surface is now extremely slick and hydrophobic to allow a safe and effortless wash process.

The customer chose not to vinyl wrap the carbon fiber trunk lid, so we performed a multi-step correction before ceramic coating to seal the gloss finish of the gel coat.
